NO I’M NOT “RETIRING / RETIRED”

In January 2026 I plan to reduce my shop working hours just a little by losing a few afternoon hours, with my new hours likely to be 6am ’til 1.30, rather than 6am ’til 4pm. Regulars customers of mine need not worry, I am not looking to get rid of anyone, I am just not taking on any new customers, any returning customers that I have not seen for 6 months plus, or able to do any one-off haircuts.

This slight reduction will enable me to then work on my other business in the week, rather than at the weekend, spend some quality time with my elderly dog, & simply enjoy life a little. After 40 yrs of always encouraging new business, it’s very odd to now need to do the opposite!

Can I stress that as well as not affecting any of my current regular customers, this does not affect Garth’s business, in any way at all either.

NOT WELL? PLEASE CANCEL Please can we stress how much we’d appreciate you cancelling your appointment, if you have any cough/cold/sickness/covid symptoms. A cancellation due to illness is never a problem… it’s far better than us catching whatever you have & then having to take several days off ourselves, rather than give it to all our customers.

A NOTE FOR STEVE’S CUSTOMERS With me now working at home Mondays on my other venture, my days at the shop are busier & henceforth my ability to get people in on the same day / next day is less likely than in the past (though cancellations do occur, so don’t ever be frightened to ask). Generally, I am booked about 7 to 10 days ahead nowadays, so if you’re not one of those customers that books your next cut when you leave the shop, perhaps give me a call / text, at least a week or so before you’d like an appointment, thanks.

28/5/2021 – I can’t quite believe that it’s 25 years ago today that I opened this business!
